This is 2nd or 3rd Shift Opening SUMMARY Be available to work the hours scheduled for his or her shift.
Be capable of reading piece part drawings.
Be responsive to a variable workload, and process jobs by their priority.
Complete, date and initial all Recorded inspection results.
Be courteous and as informative as possible to members of other departments.
When finding a defect in a submitted part, recheck your findings to be sure the error is not in the measurement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform first piece inspection, in-process checks at the designated intervals, last piece checks prior to parts moving to the store room or shipping area.
The calibration and setting of gauges to be used at the workstations by the machine operator.
The completion and filing of all inspection related paperwork.
The sign off of completed operations on shop routing sheets.
Participate in cross functional problem solving team activity.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Be familiar with the workflow through a manufacturing plant.
Knowledge of the typical quality problems found with each manufacturing operation.
Be familiar with a statistical software package.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Blueprint reading, the use and care of the standard hand measuring tools.
The ability to learn to operate manual and automated CMM's.
Have a basic understanding of gage R&R studies and Statistical process control charting.
Have a basic understanding of Geometric Tolerancing.
Know how to convert from metric measure to English measure.
Be familiar with ISO-9001documentation requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS High school Diploma, Proficient at high school mathematics, through Trigonometry.
Any training or experience in machine operation, auto mechanics, metrology, or mechanical drawing would be a plus.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
